She's A Walker!!
Well, she has taken a couple steps at a time before, but today is the first time she has really strung several steps together!! Here's a look!

The Balloon, Then and Now.....
Elise has re-discovered her appreciation for mylar balloons.
The stick horse was key to drawing it back out! That little stick horse was sent to her by her auntie Kelly for her birthday last December, and she just loves it! She crawls over to it often, grabs it and holds it up hoping one of us will give her a ride.
If you even say "horsey" around Elise, it's all over. She won't be satisfied until you give her a ride around the house on the horse!
If the video above rang a bell, Elise appeared on the blog almost a year ago laughing at a balloon......

Elise's Traveling Antics...our news
On Sunday we traveled home from Boise after a good month at the MAF headquarters. Elise was in rare form at the airport. In fact, she had a little fan club going. One guy said "I've never seen that before! You need to put that on America's Funniest Home Videos!" Here's what I'm talking about:
We flew from Boise to Portland, then from Portland to Kansas City. On the flight from Portland to Kansas City, we were in for a treat. We sat on the proper side of the airplane to see this spectacle. You can see mount hood (Oregon) in the foreground, and Mt. Reineer (Washington) (sp?) far off in the background (on the left), both sticking up through the clouds. That was amazing!
So that we don't mislead you into thinking this blog is all about Elise (come on now, we all know it sort of is) I'll share what's going on with us as a family.
I mentioned in previous posts that we are now officially part of Mission Aviation Fellowship! We have been planning and preparing to serve with MAF since 2005 and it is great to be at this point! We are assigned to Indonesia, where we will head in about a year. First, we will be working on seeking our team of financial and prayer partners (I am planning on making a link on the side of the page with more details). I am excited about this phase because the people who will support us are the ones who are literally making it possible for lives to be saved through this ministry and for the news about Jesus to go forward. Their giving makes the flights possible, while their prayers "break down strongholds" in the words of Paul. MAF brings the Gospel along with practical, life-changing help for people who live in remote and isolated parts of the world. My job will be to be the pilot who flies all types of missionaries and humanitarian workers into these remote regions. And these workers do a ton of good! With the airplane they are able to bring things with them like food, lots of medical supplies, tools, etc. And we are not just there for these workers. We provide emergency medical evacuations for native people in these remote areas. Can you imagine how doors open up to the message of the Gospel after somebody is brought back alive because they were air-lifted out to the hospital when they were critically injured? Frequently women with childbirth complications are flown from their village to the city where they can get medical attention, helping save the life of both mom and baby! Pastors and missionaries who are native to their country also receive help from MAF. In some parts of the world, the "ex-patriot" missionaries are gone (because their job is done), and the indigenous Christians are left to bring the news of Jesus throughout their country. This is ideal, and MAF is there to help these indigenous missionaries as well. We know this is the case in parts of Indonesia, where we are headed. (I could go on and on).
So Heather and I will be looking to share the ministry of MAF with Churches, small groups, families and individuals during this time, both to encourage them with what God is doing throughout the world and to invite them to join our team of supporters. We believe the Lord leads certain people to join us financially and prayerfully, and others he does not. Our job is to share, and it is a wonderful privilege to do so!
