Not a great picture because its kind of dark. It's a beautiful place with a resort like feel. And for about two bucks a person (not counting the kids) they will let you in to swim and bring you a coke! The near end of the pool is the perfect depth for Elise, it just comes up to her chest. And she just loves it!
We don't have long but we just wanted to put a post up to let friends know we are alive and kicking!
We have been very very blessed by the MAF families already here that are helping us. They really have bent over backwards for us. For example our friend Sean spent all day with us yesterday, from 8 am to 9 pm to drive us to the nearby city called Semarang to pick up some stuff for our house. He and his wife Rebecca, and our friends Daniel and Joy have been a huge help. And here, being in a new culture and not even knowing where to go to get food, we need it! We are starting to learn the ins and outs. We learned how to ride the "Oncota" to downtown (that's the word for public transportation). We learned where some stores and restaurants are. We even learned how to order pizza! We have been learning how to use the money here. If someone charges you 1,000,000 (rupiah) don't despair, that is only about 125 dollars! (yeah confusing). We are starting to pick up some basic Indonesian phrases, and language school starts on Monday! We're very ready to start learning how to communicate here! It makes it very uncomfortable not to even ask something very basic. There's so much more to say and pictures to share, but hopefully our internet comes back on at home so we can do that! Thanks again for your prayers, they are holding us up as we feel like fish out of water in a new culture.
